Update - SB 253 passed out of the California Assembly with 49 votes on Monday and now heads to Governor Newsom’s desk!! Thanks so much for getting the word out. It’s been exciting to see how much momentum has built over the 2+ years since Carbon Accountable first approached Senator Wiener about running this bill as the climate tech sector and others have gotten engaged. The Chambers of Commerce and business lobby are turning their attention to the Governor now and making the argument that SB 253 will undermine the California economy. He needs to hear from the Climate Tech community - solution providers and funders - that you have his back and that SB 253 will not only benefit California but will ensure it is the center of the global climate economy.
