💨 2024 Cleantech Open Northeast Direct Air Capture Academy: Startup Application: Aug 2
Cleantech Open Northeast, NECEC was awarded the U.S. Department of Energy Direct Air Capture (DAC) Pre-Commercial Energy for Innovation Clusters (EPIC) Prize to run the 2024 DAC Academy. This is an accelerator tailored to DAC startups. Each of five (5) DAC startups in the 2024 Cleantech Open Northeast DAC Academy cohort will receive a $10,000 cash award upon completion of the DAC Academy accelerator program.

2023 set records as the hottest year in modern history, underscoring the urgent need for climate action. In response to the considerable emissions generated by laboratories, I2SL launched the Labs2Zero initiative in 2022. This initiative aims to accelerate the decarbonization of the world’s laboratory facilities.

In the show, Danielle Siembieda employs emerging technologies as a new media artist to explore the sublime entanglement of humankind, nature, and technology, as revealed specifically by the climate crisis and recent radical innovations in science. Her work is a form of cyborg-eco-feminist, science-fiction, rooted in real discoveries, that works to articulate new hybrid forms of living and being at these liminal borders. It is interdisciplinary and collaborative, an engaged form of social practice, which draws upon diverse voices and expertise while making direct, practical contributions to civic life.
