SF Bay Climate Tech: Jan 29 - Feb 5
Ideas to IPOs in the green economy, book talks on carbon markets, and more!
Hi friends,
This week we’ve got some major news on the potential sea level rise across California - averaging 1.2 feet by 2050 and upwards of 6.6 feet by the end of the century! While these numbers are dire, local municipalities are taking matters into their own hands to adapt to this changing reality. The City of San Francisco released a $13 billion plan in partnership with the US Army Corps to elevate the Embarcadero and all its buildings by 7 feet. We hope this is a combination of gray and green infrastructure to protect some of the Bay Area’s most beloved neighborhoods - and we’re excited to continue following the project as it progresses!
Here are our picks for the week:
Dive into the environmental justice priority to create 💵 A Green Economy in the Black Community on Tuesday.
Head down to San Mateo for the 🧑💻 Idea to IPO Venture Capital Summit! on Thursday and meet over 400 entrepreneurs and investors.
📚 Meet the Author: Richard H. Lawrence, Jr. Discusses “Carbon Done Correctly” on Saturday, going all in on the voluntary carbon market and what that means for the broader investment cycle.
As always, scroll down for the full list of upcoming events.
Cheers,
