Shawn Marshall, the recently-announced new Chief Executive Officer of Peninsula Clean Energy, will offer a community choice aggregator’s perspective as it pursues cutting-edge climate policies, such as PCE’s goal of delivering 100% renewable energy to its customers on a 24/7 basis by 2025. Manuel Pineda, the Assistant City manager and Chief Electric Utility Officer of Silicon Valley Power will offer a municipal utilities’ perspective as it seeks to both procure renewables and serve load in the ever-growing City of Santa Clara.

🎲 Understand Climate Change in 3 hours
When: Sat, Aug 19th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Where: Sports Basement Sunnyvale, Summit Room, 1177 Kern Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA
Players will work together to connect the causes and effects of climate change, learn about the science from the IPCC reports: the United Nations panel of scientists that has been studying climate change since 1988; and discuss ways to help reduce the effects of climate change. The workshop is in 3 parts:1. We play the game; 2. Debrief about the game; 3. Open-ended discussion and brainstorming about actions that can be taken to address climate change. This event requires collaboration, so please be on time.

Please come for as long or as little as you like. Even a quick hello is okay with no need to RSVP. Please read through our volunteer page, it'll answer a lot of general questions that you may have. There's always a large variety of different projects taking place at any one given time but generally, we try to fit people where they feel most empowered.
