SF Bay Area Climate Tech: Oct 9 - Oct 16
Learn about textiles aboard a brigantine and schooner, talk blue tech on the Embarcadero, join MCJ for their South Bay meetup, and find out about more events this week
Hi friends,
It’s another busy week in SF and CA! On Saturday, Governor Newsom officially signed SB 253, California’s groundbreaking corporate climate disclosure law. It’s a huge milestone, but the legislative session isn’t over yet. Newsom has until October 14th to sign AB1167, a bill that would protect taxpayers from having to pay for the cleanup of abandoned oil and gas wells by mandating that the companies pay for their own costs. If you’re looking for something to do from home this week, give the Governor’s office a call and tell them your support for the law.
In the meantime, here are our picks for this week:
On Wednesday, get your feet wet at the 🌊 SF Blue Tech Happy Hour at South Beach Cafe on the Embarcadero
Join MCJ for their first Mountain View meetup on Thursday at the 💚 Bay Area Climate Tech Meetup at Das Bierhauz
Wrap up the week on Friday at with Materevolve for the Textile X Ocean Connector Sail and learn about textiles and microfiber pollution while sailing aboard the schooner SV Seaward and the brigantine Matthew Turner.
Cheers,
Alec, Sonam, and the Climate Tech Cities Team
